Bend it like Beckham: The Remake | Iqra Saied

A photography project inspired by the Y2K classic, Bend it like Beckham (Gurinder Chadha, 2002) by Manchester-based photographer, Iqra Saied.

Inspired by the film’s plot of a South Asian woman who aspires to be a footballer, Iqra wanted to recreate some of the film’s shots while incorporating elements of humour and the vibrancy of South Asian culture.

Iqra Saied is a photographer based in Manchester. She is currently a photography assistant at Breaking Barriers Rochdale, a production company that creates short films. Her work explores diversity, representation, and inclusivity. These values are at the core of her projects with an aim to motivate her audience.
